PiPN 2008 Awards of Excellence Announced

The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA) is proud to honor five students from the PiPN 2008 summer program for their hard work and dedication:

Because of performance above and beyond the norm, two students are being distinguished as Interns of the Year.
Undergraduate Intern of the Year:
Erica Bruner, Columbus College of Design, Columbus, OH / Tanglewood Fiber Creations, St. Helens, OR

Graduate Intern of the Year
Katie Dutton, University of Akron / Misti Alpaca, Arequipa Peru

In addition, three other interns are receiving awards for their accomplishments throughout the summer:
Awards of Excellence
Natalie Dugan, University of Akron / CNS Yarns, Montreal
Philippa Eccles, Harvard University, Boston / Classic Elite, Lowell MA
Kelly Fetteroff, University of Akron / Original Sewing and Quilt Expo, Westlake OH

The group was chosen from 10 participating interns this year — all of whom, notes PiPN Coordinator Sherry Mulne, did a wonderful job for their host companies. Awards were based on feedback from hosts, professors’ assessment of the students’ efforts, activities, and achievements displayed through coursework and on-site.
